Daniel Van Acker - McGill University, Computer Science
Hey, my name is Daniel. I’m a second-year student attending McGill University. My major is computer science with a minor in management (this is a very recent change). I don’t have a very concrete plan for a career path. This summer I’ll be working on my startup Tuf Candy (along with Lyn Chen - her bio is below), after which I’m unsure what I’ll be doing. Something related to AI would be ideal after graduation or as an internship next summer. I graduated from John F. Ross C.V.I. Feel free to reach out to me via email if you have any questions related to university or career pathways. I’m excited to meet you all! |

Harman Azad - University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management
I am a third year Class of 2019 University of Toronto Rotman Commerce student specializing in Public Accounting and minoring in Economics. Although my degree is in accounting, my passions lie in Finance and Consulting. Once I finish my undergrad I will start working towards attaining my CFA so that I can continue to establish a career in financial and strategic consulting, particularly for smaller businesses and start ups. The high school I graduated from was Markham District High School. Apart from business I love watching and playing soccer, reading and "binging" Mad Men on Netflix. Follow me on Instagram or email me to stay in touch! |
Julia Sun - Queen’s University, Commerce
Hey, everybody! My name is Julia Sun (yes, I’ve pretty much heard every sun pun on the planet) and I’m currently a first-year Commerce student at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. As we like to say in our year, COMM 21, COMM 21, we’re the best, we’ve just begun. I spent my high school years at St. Augustine CHS, enrolled in the Laptop program. After spending my first-year of university testing out different career paths and exploring what I really am passionate about doing in the future, I’m currently aiming to follow the consulting road path in my next 3 years at the school and hopefully land an internship at some of the big consulting firms in 3rd and 4th year. But with that being said, I’m really realizing that with each month I spend in the program, I’m only becoming more curious about all the possibilities out there, so I’m still keeping my options open! Because I’m definitely not always strictly business, a couple of my favourite hobbies are hot yoga, reading anything I can get my hands on, traveling with friends and family, and writing. I have my own personal travel and lifestyle blog so go check it out if you get the chance! I love to talk and am always up for a chat so if you want to ever say hi or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! You can give me a follow on Instagram, hit me up on Facebook, or shoot me an email! |

Nicholas Chan - Queen’s University, Commerce
Hi, I'm Nick! I graduated from Markville Secondary School where I was the president of DECA, part of the swim team, and an amateur dancer at the dance club. For universities, I had the hard choice between Queen's Commerce and Waterloo CompSci. I'm now happily studying Commerce at Queen's University, and hoping to graduate by 2021. I'm still a complete tech nerd, and love to learn about emerging trends such as artificial intelligence and blockchain. Moving forward, I hope to work in either the tech consulting or startup field, but the real dream is to travel as much as possible and live a life full of adventure. In my spare time, you can find me reading a good book, playing basketball, or practicing my dance moves. Always happy to help out if you shoot me a message (not just "connect") on email or LinkedIn. |
Nico Zimmer - Seneca College, Civil Engineering
I am a 22 year-old Brazilian who's been living in Toronto since 2014 (I've been living by myself since I was 18 years old), and I am completing a 3-year civil engineering program in April. In addition to my studies, I am working as a tutor at Seneca College. I'm happy to share my experience of living away from my family to attend school! |
Nikhil Gupta - University of Waterloo, Engineering
I'm a first-year Software Engineering student at the University of Waterloo. I harbour a deep love for Math, Computer Science (CS), and Physics. Emerging technologies excite me and I hope to make a mark in some emerging technology someday. As of right now, I want to explore anything and everything in tech/CS. Born and brought up in India, I moved to Canada in 2015 because my parents knew what was best for my education (and I didn't haha). I studied grade 11 and 12 at John Fraser SS in Mississauga where I ended up falling in love with the people and the city. Driven by a desire to give something back to Mississauga and a sad statistic that the second most populous city in Canada didn't have its own hackathon, my team and I organized our own at the University of Toronto Mississauga. |
Rachel Tong - New York University, Stern School of Business
Rachel graduated from Bayview Secondary School in 2017 where she completed her IB Diploma. She is currently a freshman at New York University studying Business and Political Economy with future aspirations to work in international development. |
